“IT IS ALWAYS DARKEST BEFORE
DAWN.”
“A SEED HAS TO ROT FIRST BEFORE
IT GERMINATES.”
Dreaming is not the hardest thing
to do. In fact Dreaming is easy that everyone can do it. Conceiving huge ideas
is easy. It is a fact again that every human has birthed a great idea that
could have changed the course of life for ever. Acting is not the easiest thing
to do, but again many people can decide to act upon their dreams. Do you know
what is hard?
Going on and still believing in
your dream even when it seems that it is all lost, that is the hardest thing to
do. To carry on doing the things that will bring you to your dream even when
you do not see any signs of a victory close by is not as easy as it sounds.
What is difficult is to try and convince yourself that all will be well when
everything around you spells disaster. That is the truest test of the character
of a man. There is a quote that goes;
“The test of a character of a man
is not where he stands in the time of fortune, but where he stands in the times
of adversity.”
It would be a lie if I tell you
that your vision will never be fought. It will be the biggest lie again if I
tell you that you will never encounter setbacks in your life in the pursuit of
your vision. What I know is that those who never give up quickly on their
visions will see the result of their work. I encourage you to never give up
when faced with challenges or major setbacks. What I encourage you to do is to
soldier on and fight till you attain your goal.
I will use the illustration of a
tree to explain this to you. The bends on a tree are a sign of the adversity it
has overcome. Those who know biology will know that a tree needs light for
photosynthesis and growth, if light was incident on a tree from a different
direction to its orientation the tree bends closer to the light so that it
grows. It never gives up and retires to death. If an obstacle stands in its way
to stunt its growth the tree looks for where an opening is, in the process it
bends again. Finally after years the tree will stand rooted firmly in the
ground with the bends as sign of overcoming adversity. I encourage you to
follow the examples of the trees to bend your way outside adversity and
challenges, but never to give up.
“Life belongs to those who
believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
